The MC-303 is a very handy tool for laying down a bass line and a drum track. I don't rightly understand anyone saying this piece of gear is horrible. Remember people, this unit has the sounds of the most popular drum machines ever made. Guess who made those sought after pieces of kit? ROLAND! The U.S is selling these units for under 400 USD. That is a bargain! Why bitch and moan, just play and enjoy!

I use my mc 303 extensively in my funk band and get really decent sounds out of it. It is for perfect for generating complete rythem tracks. You can just program a beat, a simple bass line and run the chord changes thru the arpeggiator. The mc 303 is great

yes the presets are a little tinny, but even the presets on a high end synth like the novation supernova II are not fantastic. the sounds can be modified so do so. it is always worth exploring any sound making device you have to the full. i have used my groovebox as a versatile synth and as a not half bad drum machine on a single with my crew "creative invasion collective". which received favourable reviews in a number of dance mags. the moral is..experiment.

I have to agree with "musefumes". WHO CARES? I bought the 303 just to get a feel of the stuff and it's given me a good idea. I mean, why spend a zillion dollars on things you don't know anything about? You have to start somewhere and I think the 303 is a good place to start. Don't get me wrong; it IS a let down but it does give you the experience of something other than Realistic type shite. I think the "let down" is your brain telling you to do something NEW! What's wrong with that?

MC303 is killer when used as drum machine.

Now they are selling all over for $399 new. What an awesome value. Nothing compares in this range period. Very fun and versatile. Arpeggiator is sweet and by using outboard fx you can get some great sonic phattness going.
