i got 303 second hand in very good condition. i bougth this as a drum machine but i think is just more then that.sounds are little out dated but i think its great compact silver box.to get good D.M. You have to spend around $700 CAN.or more,303 has good drum sets plus bass lines and real time controls.midi is very limited but i live with that.i will recommended 303 to any hobby musician. Thank You

I bought this piece of crap over 2 years ago, I can honestly tell you that I have done nothing with it. The video looks great. The concept is great. But the thing is a nothing but an expensive drum machine with some cheezy synth sounds. It has been collcecting dust in my studio all this time. Everytime I attempt to give it another shot, this dame thing disappoints me!!!!1

i was ust drifting through the reviews and decided to leave one of my own. these are all just my opinions, you can agree or disagree..i dont care. it was the first piece of hardware i ever owned. i purchased it cuz it was an all in one thing. before that..i was doing all my stuff using fruity loops. it introduced me to hardware...but..i quickly grew bored of it and sold it.i guess i just yearned for more. but alas...it does serve a purpose....its for beginners...a way to get started. it kinda lets you decide if you want to try to take your music to the next level, ie invest in more gear, w.o. spending hordes of cash right in the beginning. it converted me...i now have an mpc2k, super bass station, a sidstation etc etc etc....personally..i would never use it for anything more then a toy...but thats not to say its not a worthy instrument...i just get a huge rush from making my own sounds and spending hours upon hours of tweaking them....s&m anyone? lol

It is the only machine I sold with pleasure. Unuseful machine for pros who have a MIDI studio. Some sounds are good though but it is a nightmare to program it through Sys Ex. Do not buy it, it is getting obsolete : get Korg Electribe machines instead (it you 'd like to stick to the same concept).

Yes, get the RM1x, like I did, but I still cant let my MC-303 go. Maybe Im nuts, but theres certain things as pointed out by Peter (below) that really make it unique. Im keepin mine. But yes, by all means, get an RM1x--they are cooler too!! I use em both with an AN1x and an R-70 and Im havin a great time. Never heard any complaints but then again Im not tryin to become rich either with my music. I just love it a lot. Maybe you guys know somethin I dont. All I know is that the MC-303 sure has a sweet arpeggiator & the drums aint too bad when you mix em up with other stuff too. Isnt that what its all about? Mix--mix and re-mix? Hell, use em all and just have a good ole time. Use whatever you got and make it sound good. But dont be embarassed if you use an MC-303---hey its dark in there anyway---- right? Nobody judges you by your gear, they judge how well you can make em dance and feel good. I dont think that has a whole lot to do with the gear. Its more about who you are. But by all means get the best gear you can afford--but always remember some of the finest musicians out there have made it BIG with total shit gear. Cool huh?
