the main problem with this unit is i.m.h.o., that it is simply a bit too expensive, if you compare it to what the rm1x offers at only about 200 bucks plus. the rm1x does EVERYTHING better than the 303, except for the arpeggiator (which is extremely powerful and much underrated on the 303!!!) and the rps (i have yet to find out a reasonable use for this, but it's fun to fool around with anyway...)

bottom line: if you want a good sequencer with some useable sounds, buy a rm1x. if you need a good arpeggiator with built-in drummachine and some useable sounds, buy a used mc303. and if you just want to impress your buddies, buy some other really expensive gear ;-)

and a final wish: PLEASE stop complaining about how "limited" this box is!! this is really incredibly boring and just shows your inability to use your gear properly. i guess you would also bash a fender precision, because it only has a single pickup. kinda limited, huh? shut up, please! JUST. SHUT. UP. thank you.

Wrong, wrong WRONG!!! Micro Please Please stop misinforming people. The average price of an MC-303 selling on Ebay out of the last 20 that sold was $346!!!! What are you talking about?? If you could buy them for $150, youd be nuts not to and turn around and sell them on Ebay. Anyway, MR DJ---enough is enough. You have gone too far. We, the readers are sick of you!!!!!! The MC-303 is a part of techno history. You cannot change that with your negative attitude--sorry.

just a p.s. about the 303's resale value: it's just like a car; as soon as you take it off the lot, it's value drops. also consider the fact that there are toooo many 303's being sold practically everywhere. so as far as microeconomics is concerened: a surplus of goods means a drop in it's fair market value. now if you get it for $150, then it's a deal.
