OK, I'M NOT A MUSICAL GENIUS I BOUGHT THE G-BOX ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO THE MOMENT THEY CAME OUT(SUCKER) BUT I MUST ADMIT YOU HAVE JUST GOT TO LOVE THIS LITTLE BOX. I DONT MAKE TECHNO, AND I DONT USE THE APREGGIATOR AT ALL THOUGH IT IS VERY GOOD, I MAINLY USE THE G-BOX FOR DRUM PROGRAMMING FOR BREAKBEATS WHICH IT IS VERY GOOD AT, I DONT USE HARDLY ANY OF THE SOUNDS EXCEPT A SMALL AMOUNT, YOUR PROBABLY THINKING WHY I BOUGHT IT BUT IT WAS FUN AND I LEARNED A LOT USING IT I KNOW HAVE A TRINITY V3 WHICH IS AMAZING BUT A STILL USE THE SEQUENCER ON THE G-BOX FOR THE COMBINATION SOUNDS FROM THE TRINITY AND DRUM PROGRAMMING BASICALLY THE G-BOX IS A BEGINNERS TOOL AND IT MUST BE SEEN IN THAT CONTEXT IT IS NOT A TB OR A 909 BUT EVERYBODY HAS TO LEARN SOMEWHERE.

Of course the sounds are outstanding, I never heard better basses! But why didn't Roland provide knob control in sound module mode and a reasonable sound editing software??!

May God punish them.

When It came out wasn't the best thing for the price. But today it's cheap and can get it snd hand easily. Even stupid knows that sampleplayback machine can't emulate tb-303 and you can get that sound cheap buying FAT etc. if not the real tb sound... But think what costs real tb-303, tr-808/909, juno 106 etc. For drums and some techno synths nice but if you have sampler and effects or can afford forget that box. But otherwise for poor dancemusicians it's not bad box.

Just picked one up for bout 350 bucks. I knew what I was getting into before I even bought it. I've had it for bout 2 weeks, and I am actually quite pleased. Used for drums, this things is really nice. Some general leads, bases n such it's cool too. My main reason for getting it, besides the general techno sounds was the sequencer. I am so tired of computer sequencing, it's nice to have something portable and virtually trouble free without that annoying computer fan zapping all my creativity away. This thing with my Juno and an FM module works for me....without computer! Grab yourself a sampler and you're set!
