Kinda fun but not really. Groove box falls short of it name, but what do you expect? Roland has cornered a market for those who want to attempt to get by cheaply, but I do not think it can be done properly this way. Im much happier playing with my samplers and dedicated drum machines. Keeps things nice and simple too. I used to own 2 of these notorious MC-303's and fortunately due to the market for them, I sold both after 2 years for a nice profit (heheheheh). :-)

Yes the sounds are old, there are too many presets, not enough memory, but without this machine as a basis to start making happy hardcore/Gabba on i'd have a lot of time on my hands, by all means pick one up if you get it cheap enough. The programming of beats takes about 2 seconds when you know how, thats what i like. I like it, its fun and u learn something new on it evryday:) 5/5
