This little machine is great for drum machine beginners. It's easy to use and you learn something new, the more you mess with it. The sounds are okay, if you use lots of effects, and the drum kits are practicaly the same...but for beginners, (like myself) you have to buy it, trust me.

I happen to know there's at least 4 303's within 5 minutes walk from my house and they all belong to my mates. I've just aquired one and it's wicked. We're all producing some stunning techno and psychedelic trance and we love it to bits.

I've heard loads of complaints that it sounds the same all the time but I'm running it through all kinds of FX boxes and it makes me weep with elation sometimes.

The only problem I've had is figuring out how to record stuff on it but thats more my ineptitude for music technology and the lame instruction book.

Thanks Caroline below.

Rick Astley & Expose are just what I'm looking for. "Im past the point of no return."

That 80's Show will be starting soon. Time to grow (or regrow) a mullet.

I'll worry when it gets circa late 80's Poison-hair-band style.

That has got to be the funniest review I have ever read below me.

No , you cannot recreate Taylor Dane's "Tell it To my Heart" on the MC-303 but it does a wicked Rick Astley ,"Never Gonna Give You Up".

And patch 98 is an almost perfect match of Expose's ,"Point of No Return". And I dont mean that crappy re-make with "the new" Expose.

If you want to re-capture these groups (and I know you have your reasons) then check out the MC-303.

But , I cannot guarentee that the Rick Astley will be dead on but it will suffice for that "Never Gonna Give" sound.

I do not want to leave the 80s (for my own personal reasons).

Can I recreate Taylor Dayne's "Tell it to My Heart" on this thing? Not that I particularly like that song (although I do) but that is the sound I want to be able to re-capture.

I have my reasons.
