I have had my Roland SC-155 sound canvas for about 9 years, and it still live's up too todays musical synths. I use a Yamaha PSR-630 Gem S2 Turbo and my Roland to do my own midi files, cos of its easy to use LCD display that's what i use for editing instruments, its own sliders like the Gem can be assigned to different parts. The sounds are still out of this world for the time it was released!. Piano and SFX are a must, with all my synths together its brill? cos of the Roland's GS & GM use's it make's it a very good module to use....

I bought this thing for �100,- and I must say, it's a very good module. Very easy to use live and it has very good sounds. When I'm playing, I can program it live and it is really easy. The volume sliders are good and the buttons are also very good but a bit small I think. The orange LCD screen is very clear and good readable. it also has a sort of equalizer on it.
The sounds: very good sounds. Lots of them are quiet realistic... I love them... The GS sounds and the MU32 sounds are good and the drum kits are also nice but some could be better...
The thing has 2 midi ins which is very usefull. You can hook up a sequencer to it and a keyboard. But I hooked up 2 keyboards.
I recommend this module and especialy for it's price. Search on ebay f.i. You find them there all the time.

Hi. I am solo musician from Felixstowe in United Kingdom who is using Sound Canvas 155 for last 10 years. I link it to my Roland MC-50 and this combination works fine.
I am planning in nearer future to use my laptop with Cubase or Cakewalk and will convert all my SMRC files ( so far around 350 songs) from Roland MC-50 to SMF, but I will NEVER part with my Sound Cancas 155. Excellent product !!!

i bought my sc-155 new about ten years ago and ive used it on countless jobs, its a perfect sound module for single performers...i use a laptop with cakewalk to feed it with standard midi files,,im a guitar player and all i have to do it edit out the guitar parts, if i want to use a bass man i just use the slider to pull out the bass,,,i give my sc-155 a 5 out of 5

I bought my SC155 (New) in 1991 and have used it every week for 11 years now, and it is still going strong. A couple of the buttons and switches are getting a little loose and weak, but it has never faltered. It's a great sounding unit, and I like the independant volume sliders for each channel. I also like the tabletop view of the Canvas. I'm a solo player. I switch off from keyboard to saxophone, and the SC155 sets above the keyboard and very accessable. I recently bought another one for backup, but I don,t know if I'll ever need it. It's a great unit. I use SMF thru a Roland Sound Brush to the SC155.
