Yeah, I've got an SC-55... I definitely wouldn't want to use it as my ONLY synth, but if you're looking to add some nice orchestral and real-world sounds to a setup otherwise built on subtractive or FM synths, this is a good (and CHEAP) way to do it. The drum sounds are crap, though. For dance music, at any rate.

SC 55 is a "J.F.B" (Just For Beginner) expander, which can help the one who looks for sth. easy to use, good sounds, but any outstanding performance! The most interesting part of the expander is the step-by-step sysex internal programming, which can add some power to the sounds. But this function is not well known, and fastidious to use.

MPU INTERFACE,AND GM 16 BIT SOUND CARD. I've had it sincd 1991 or 1992. Excellent sound source. Still using this card. Why? It sounds so good, and the TR808 sounds, are reeeeeeeaaaaaaaally good. I'm sampling it. When I'm done, I may want to sell it. Has manual, disk, cords.

The module to play midi files! Great sounding for those purposes and for playing, old now but still going strong! Buy one cheap if you can!

I have a SCC1 card MIDI only that i purchased about five years ago, Great sound, but now that I am using Win 95 I seem to have problems with ketting keyboards to work, is there an update driver, Can I add a second card so that I have WAVE and CD audio, or is there an adon. I don't want to change out the card as the Recording quality is so good. Thanks Fred Musgrave, Major The Salvation Army Raleigh, NC
