You want to explore uncommon ground? or the higher spiritual dimensions? Want to go trip2sonic out-of space ethereal, flying in multicoloured dreams? If any, this is the only synth that can take you there... I currenly own a lot of synths, and I've tried most of the big ones, among them, the much praised and - like the VS - rare, Jupiter 8, but this one is the ultimate. The most amazing instrument ever made, with the exception of a supreme human voice... The only machine that can make as beautiful pads as this is the Kawai K5000, as synth that is also capable of spacey weirdness, but...it cannot make sublime strings like the VS, believe me, nothing can. It's otherworldly.

A beauty. I have mended a few of these. The sample and hold chips pack up frequently. The switches get dirty and need a hard push like those on polysixes. The aftertouch can be put right as long as the touch pads haven't corroded away. Besides that, they are pretty bullet proof. The sounds are awesome as many have said. Nice chorus circuit makes lush sounds possible. That joystick! You need to run in stereo to get the full effect, even when you gigging. Play on the flat. No sloping stands. Like all prophets, some transformer noise that has to be dealt with.

A previous reveiwer had it right in describing the VS as "supernatural". It inspires awe and fascination with its unique sonic brilliance. Lush, thick, powerful, transfixing. Like all classics, superlatives do not convey enough - it must be heard.

Trying one side by side with a Pro 5. No contest. The VS blows it away. Sophistication and very smooooth! Lushness and hard hitting...take your pick. This synth does it all.
