the best sci synth made, its a shame they wernt still around to even take the sequential circuits synths even further.the prophet vs has a really cool distinct sound (those that have one know what im talkin about),id say it sounds like a supercharged microwave 1 -but much better, you can hear alot of the VS on nin pretty hate machine really sticks out as weird pad sounds with noise/bells. i have a keyboard version 1.2 and aftertouch works.i hear that many dont work at all, just guess im lucky for now.but the VS is really nice to have for pads and oddball sounds that no-other synth can do,even the leads and bass arnt too bad either.i orignally wanted to get a korg wavestation but by some luck i bumped into an offer for a mint VS.i havent had a chance to directly compare a VS to a wavestation, but from what i hear that the wavestation isnt close enough, and by the prices they go for (usually $500 wavestation a/d) and a prophet vs $1200-2200,id say more people want the VS.i compare the VS to my XTK and they sound somewhat similar, but the VS has a more raw odd sound that sticks out much more.

Just an awesome synth. A work of genious. The sounds are broard and often unique. Lovely prophet 5 style filters. Great editing in general. I love the random edit feature. Nice strings. The pads are beautiful. It always sounds powerful and thick. It can inspire you. Not like an ordinary analogue or digital synth. This is something very different. Totally different to any SY or wavestation. Much more organic and distinctive. One of the best synths ever. Everybody who has ever played one loves them. The sounds are a mixture of S&S, DX and ARP 2500!! Buy one if you can. They are quite reliable and well built. Most of the few made have been well looked after. The best prophet..even better than a T8.

I just got one and I'm overwhelmed by the possibilities this beauty offers. The pads are awesome and leave my prohet 5 far behind. The whole concept of vector synthesis is not only clever, but build for the creative ones and easy to use. 5 out of 5, that's for sure. If anyone wants to sell or trade vs sound cartridges, please let me know.

A Soulful and Very beautiful sounding synth. This keyboard has inspired me. Its sounds are organic and have a very 'American' edge to them. It's built to last. The case is made of steel and the hardware has a quality feel to it. A classy piece of equipment that stands out as superior amongst the other gear in your studio. Rare though. It took me two years to get a good one. If you see a good one under $1500, buy it. A lot of the units advertised as perfect aren't. I tried out a number that had keyboard and software problems. The aftertouch never works. Even when it did it wasn't very good. You can forgive it that fault. A rare and beautiful item. Many thanks to Chris Smith and the other guys at Sequential.
