hi, ive owned 3 440's over the last 12 years. the same one twice. just got another recently and man have i missed her! dont get me wrong it dont replace the 3000, but it is a COMPLETELY different animal! it is the best lo fi machine. 1200 are nice, but i prefer the flexability and weirdness of the 440. it is a antastic machine that was far ahead of its time. anyone who talks smack about it maybe just dont get it. its the hotness. put it along side an mpc 3000 and youll kill anything out there. 9.9

I have and still to this very day use my 440! Me and two other Dj friends of mine own a 440.Dj Tat Money and Dj Cash Money (who owns two)! I have to disagree with all the negative press about this machine. Yes it's old and yes it's low-fi but I will challenge any-one to show me a machine that can get your idea's done so fast and easy without the "million button" pushing senerio that the 3000 and others require. I don't beleave that their is another machine out now that can beat the 440 for it's easy learning curve and strait forward front panel instuctions. And let's not forget how it comes with everything that they charge you separate for on other machines like 8 separate out's! It also has 512k memory factory no buying chips and sh-t! Have fun with what ever you use!

Peace deejay -D

Robert Young a professional user from Atlanta writes:
The Studio 440 is the best Drumsampler, Sequencer and Rhythm machine that´s ever been built. Really hard to find and very rare. Better than any other popular machines like emu sp-1200, akai mpc60, mpc3000, mpc2000, etc. if you can get one - get it! there are only less than 500 units worldwide! rza eg uses it for dope wu-tang sounds. crispy, tight, analog, phatt, warm, groovy, etc.

4amour a part-time user from USA PA Philadelphia writes:
Well, I have owned just about every drum machine there was. I have within the last couple of years aquired the 440. Don't sleep, it has it's niche in the hip hop, house industry. I've heard questions of interface, well it designed the whole idea that was stolen by akai mpc models. It wasn't until recent that they even caught up with features like scsi, reverse, mute and (don't forget who prototyped midi SEQUENTIAL) It booms very close to my sp 1200 in side by side comparisons but dust it with horns, highhat, and string samples. I also have the asr 10 and the interface is simple when compared to others. Kids should really learn to use the kit befor they right it off. Heck the analog filters when used properly simplify the whole eqing of drums process. I know only a few of these were made and I believe negative talk is because people want them and can't get them. PS I have a friend with a jv8000, why did he offer to buy my 440 for 1,500.00 cash in hand?.....Hmmm
