Arp a hobbyist user from England writes:
Although it isn't much use for the kind of fat Moog sound than a lot of people want, it's small, cute-looking, cheap, and it has it's own, very Roland-y electronic sound. The addition of a tiny sequencer makes it even better, and you can get some close-ish TB303 approximations with it (you won't fool anybody, however). It's also available in a wide variety of colours (mine is red - there are grey and blue variants as well, and there are reports of hyper-rare black and white (and maybe even green) flavours too).

Dirk Friedrich Walther a hobbyist user from Bielefeld, Germany writes:
I use the 101 in my productions in many different ways, I think its one of

the best analog synthesizer ever made. It's great advantage is the possibility

to sound smooth and warm on the one hand and bad'n'crispy on the other.

Unfortunately, many tracks which contain the 101, don't really 'push it to the limit'

leaving away many of the possibilities of this great synth.

Rich Hamakawa a part time user from Canada writes:
This little analog demon is the bomb. From gritty, piercing leads to sub basses that devastate your mains, this synth is the goa weapon of choice. I gig it with my TR-606, which opens up countless possibilities using the arppegiator/sequencer. It is quite tough, despite the cheap-looking case. Loads of analog fun, but don't expect to simulate a Bosendorfer Concert Grand with it. Of course, If you're looking at an SH-101 then that's probably not your intention. If you have a distortion pedal, it will bark and sqeal like a dog passing razor blades. Very cool, I'd love to find another one.
