Darren a professional user from USA writes:
The SH-101 is the BEST synth for generating kick drums. That tight ass "Man With No Name" kick is NOT the TR-909 like many people think, it's the SH-101.

This synth is WONDERFUL for creating drum sounds, and with a noise wave selectable as a LFO modulation, there is NOTHING like this little god.

The 101 is all that, and a bag of midi cables! It's like my "little baby" of the gear. Like they, say you don't know what you have until, it's gone. The only thing better is that TB-30----price-rip-everybody-off-wish-I-could-go-back-in-time-get-one-for-$50-machine.

monkey lewis a hobbyist user from a lonely place near a river writes:
I cannot award this synth with an official munkeliek salute, because this monkey doesn't own one. but that doesn't mean it isn't munkeliek, because this plastic bastard can really squelch...yep, it's squelchy alright, it sounds wet even, it is really thin, and looking at it will always produce a smile. of all the monosynths I think this one can really become a person's honest freind. the random noise generator is an instant joyous occasion. set it up in a locker room and you're all done. you are an artist. it goes bleep and bloop, and blop and bleen and you say to yourself, damn! I wish I was a plastic noisemaking device. I wish people could slide my FREQ, and change the octaves on my sub occilator! I wish I had an LFO,.... this synth is really all about sound, basses, and trebles, and everything in between. "boys town is talking" is
