great sounding mono synth, maybe my favourite... great basses, good filter, very musical and WILD!!! no midi or CV control...

some cool features like lowpass, bandpass and highpass filtering options, all can be activated simultaneously for a variety of hollowish bandpass fx. the sound is quite unique, part yamaha cs softness with a mean squealing resonance. nice to play old-fashioned solos with.

This is one of my favourite mono synths. Very good at bass and leads - lovely resonance, hollow leads, a stonka for the price £99!I had the Siel cruise but disliked it. This is one great value analogue mono synth. Does what i need and the look-cheesy but i like it. Obviously the Moogs are classier animals but i still give it a 4!

This was the second synth I got (after a Roland SH-09) and I found it very limited at first but I have come to regard this as one of my very best synths and one of the most musical. The 16' square wave (clarinet) sounds as hollow as a grand cathedral. The 32' rising sawtooth wave (Bass Tuba) sounds so rich when dynamically filtered (which is best done manually due to the poor ADR generator). Put the resonance right up and modulate it with the LFO and you get a deep, beautiful sound.
Negatives: The LFO can only modulate either the DCO or VCF at one time. No external signal or control inputs. Envelope generator is poor: cannot get a long ATTACK; HOLD seems to be all or nothing and DECAY is almost instant or forever. Portamento is a glissando type effect and not at all good for fast playing.
Positives: Sounds beautiful for some reason. DCO stays in tune forever. High-, Low and Band-Pass filters can all be switched in at once.
Overall: Sweet, bassy, beautiful.

Not necesssarily pretty but looks are nothing, really. This is a fine, warm, clean sounding Italian with is capable of good searing sounds- use the LFO-, earth shaking bass and incorporates a useful 3 band VCF section allowing you to alter the sound as you play. The presets are useless but you can get some interesting percussion sounds out of it- switch off the wave forms and play with the resonance and noise. Inconspicous and relatively unpopular (or uncommon -?-). This machine seems basic but is capable of unique and interesting sounds.
