I just purchased used Ensoniq SQ1. It seems to be very good synth to my needs. I use it to practise at home when my main synth (Korg Trinity) is at band raining place.

Can I download user manual for SQ1 some where? Can I download different patches?

Mike a hobbyist user from Australia writes:
Well, I just picked up my SQ-1 (in original box) for a bargain $AU 125. I previously (many years ago) owned a Roland D-50 (my all-time fave synth) and when I first heard the SQ-1 it brought back those old Roland memories!

Sure, it's not quite the same, but it has that same crisp digital character, but also produces some passable analog sounds.

The keyboard action is fantastic - light and very responsive. Only let down by the lack of aftertouch.

I have the 'low-battery' message, but I'll fix that myself tomorrow - I always replace the soldered in batteries with a good quality battery-holder, which makes replacing the battery a breeze, in the future.

Can't wait to get into the SQ-1 (when I finally get my hands on a manual!)

layzer a professional user writes:
The presets are midiocre, fortunately this synth is programmable as hell. heres what you do... pick a base sample sound. make it voice 2 tune it to +00, pan center enable voice 1 and pick the same sample..but fine tune it to +7 or +10 and pan +40 enable voice 3 and again, the same sample but fine tune it to -7 or -10 pan -40.... BAM! lush and fat!

Tom a professional user from USA writes:
Question: Can someone tell me how to send a sequence from DATA DISK to Ensoniq SQ1 ? I hit Send on the Data Disk, but I don't recall how to set up the Keybord SQ1 to capture the sequence that I'm trying to get on it. Please email the answer to LiveOn2@nc.rr.com Thanks millions. Tom

Mudcat a part-time user from USA writes:
I've had my SQ1 for 15yrs. I love it. Paid $1,000. Lately the sustain pedal seems to be reversed. Is that possible?

To order a battery? Does the SQ1 have the pin or not? Which should I order?

Thanks,Mud.
