probably the only synth where lack of knobs is a goood thing; paradoxically, i have owned a virus b, ti desktop, and a polar in the past, but think the snow is by far the best in terms of value for money of course, i find it for some reason more productive in terms of programming. Love the fact that each patch is its own button rather than part of a rotary dial list; love the small compact footprint; love the organisation and the accesibility of every parameter; only problem is that configuring modulations is sligtly slower compared to knobbier versions, but that is the only loss. i run vista 64 so no virus control for me, yet (no drivers) but snow is still my main hardware synth. Virii are for modern, smooth, grainy electronica, glassy pads, distorted basses, and very digital leads. effects are ok; like to sometimes record a long reverb tail only for big, almost granular drones, but is most often best at nearly dry signal; new delays in os3 are very, very good, lots of creativity possible there, subtle distortion/analog boost nice additions to sound. I pass snow through eventides, lexicons then ohmboyz plug-in - I need nothing else..

Sweet sounding little synth, the only dissapointing bit is the 50 note limit and with some presets it only has 5-10 vice poly.
