I had a Casio VZ10M and LOVED IT! Lots of programable features made some killer sounds. I regret selling it and I've been looking for another one!

Just bought two of them today for a blowout of $45.00 each. I had never used one before today, but having spent the last 4 hours with one, I can safely say that this is the best kept secret in the keyboard playing world. The previous reviews are correct...the factory patches blow. But once you get a grip on the editing functions, which is fairly easy, you can tweak the living shit out of this. Excellent pads, basses, weird string sounds, phasey solos, anything but imitative sounds. 8 oscillators with a choice of 8 different waveforms (sine, saw 1-5, a white noise, and a more "pink noise"), the capability to create user defined envelopes, ring mods (4 of them!) phase distortion, the works. An excellent synth, and totally useable for techno, house, electronica...buy one, buy one, buy one. You wont regret it!

Ed Averill a part-timer user from California, USA writes:
A very interesting toy! Like everyone says, the factory patches mostly bite with one or two exceptions, so trash 'em. It's close to impossible to find a manual, don't bother with Casio as they don't care, but there's some support on the Web and a Windows-based patch editor is available. Sits well in the mix, especially useful for totally obscene sounds that I can't get out of my TX81Z...

Henri Sizaret a hobbyist user from France writes:
Hi, I own a VZ 10 M and I like it very much because you can create very weird and disgusting noises just by messing around.

Overall, the VZ goes nicely with other machines, eg analog.

jon francis a hobbyist user from usa writes:
Critics Agree!! What's that horrible smell? Why its the VZ factory patches. However, playing the chimp and just start hitting buttons, one can come up with some fantastic electronic/synth sounds. Very deep.
