I got this on the advice of a good friend. WOW!! This baby is IT!! All the bass sounds you'll ever need. INCREDIBLE!!! Get one now!! They are hard to find, but its worth the effort!!!! AWESOME!!!

It's analogue, it's fat, it's loud. It can be brilliant if you program it well - it's not like an SH101 which sounds good no matter how you twiddle it.
The front panel is okay, but is inadequate for setting or discovering modulation routings. Some people have moaned about their knobs coming loose, but mine's been fine.
It can sound a bit sterile, but for the money you can't argue (250 UK pounds now). When I first got it, my immediate thoughts were to get another one, but I think I'd get something different to complement it now.
The best thing about it for an analogue is the memories and MIDI implementation.

I'm sure that REAL people who knows things of analogs, synthesizers, programming and stuff will like Pulse. Nothing will beat it for that price. We have four (yes 4) of them in our studio. Im sure that some "preset" -dudes(who plays synth-presetsounds) with lot of effects will whine after week or so, but programmers will get LOT out of it. Just reserve some time for you Pulse :).

Why? I dunno. Again, like some of the vintage Roland equipment, Waldorf is an overrated company.
If you want perfect, sterile notes, get a pulse. Yeah, it's analog. It sounds digital, really.
I never thought it was analog...even though they said it was.
It was always too "on the note" to be analog.
So...I sold my pulse.
