sonic textures of great complexity can be acheived with this synth. wavetables evolve into amazing soundscapes.it is a very accurate instrument and has great tactile feedback via the rotary encoders. no jumps or glitches are audible when editing this beast. I have the 10-voice ( unexpanded model ) and for me the richness of the sound does not neccessitate major polyphony... it is a real pity about waldorf hitting the rocks..their synths are classics... the sound, however will live forever...

This is a dream of a synth. One of the most flexible synths I own and one that I'll probably keep forever.

This synth will put out some really different and even bizzarre type sounds. Very nice and worth the price.

I love the XT. My first Waldorf was a Pulse. Then I got the Micro Q. Then I got the XT. WOW! What a cool piece of gear this is. Try to find the shadow (black) version if you can. They are rare but cool. This XT is my 2nd favorite piece of Waldorf gear next to the Q+

This thing is wicked. Reading through some of these posts, how can you say this thing can't make bass? Ever heard the patch Kicker? You can make slamming bass with this thing... actually, you can make / emulate almost anything with the XT.
