There's so much going on, that it can scramble your brainstem quite easily. My fave thing is to activate a random patch & twiddle till I dribble.
The Q is a (not-so) Poor Man's Buchla. Wish the scale went to 6.

I have had my Q rack for a year. It is fantastic. Very deep and full of features. The Mod Matrix makes the Q incredibly pliable. It has an great programable arp. The step sequencer is a wonderful tool that seems missing on alot of synths nowadays. The sounds are from very rude to creamy and frothy. Good basses/leads and outstanding pads. I use mine for ambient music, and it really performs well in that task. The Q is a wonderful and versatile instrument that can perform most any task outside of simulating an accoustic instrument. It's expensive, but it offers so many features and has such a great sound. You definitely get your money's worth.

Nice lush sounds are the imediate reaction upon owning this monster. After a couple of years of fondling with it you begin to realise that it has a lot more depth than the average base emu station and has a sound character that kicks ass.. Electronic music junkies ie- tech house, electro and not those toy time genres will fully appreciate the reality that is waldorf q..(and no i am not working for the company or shagging the md's daughter !!!!)

Picked up one last year with wood side panels. Built beautifully just like the Xtk. Very intuitive interface. Only complaint is that I wish more of these great synth companies would use the keys that Access uses now, they are a big step up. This is one of the best digilogs and at around 950.00(used) for the keyboard version its hard to beat.
