This is no ordinary sampler. I am just begining to realise the full potential of this blue beast. Once again, another misunderstood Yammy product that the underground is keeping secret, this unit and an FS1R could tear the roof off!

Catch one - if you can...

my A3000 never crashed on me, so i find it very stable....

about the problems with the HD: make sure you don't have a virus scanner running that modifies boot-sectors of harddisks on your system, and also try to find, download and run the registry fix for Windows95/98 from former teklab (now ampfea i believe)...furthermore first start your windows system, after that turn on the sampler.....before closing down windows shut down the sampler first..

I strongly recommend against this sampler if you think about using in a live enviroment, it's too unstable and crash prone, mine is the v2 and for some reason it's very unstable. don't get me wrong it's a great sampler it's got a lot of features not available on other samplers including the ability of mangling the samples with the loop remix function it's got semi decent filters and nice but weird efx that I do find usable if you're into techno music and experimental music, another obviuos problem with this unit is its inability to import akai samples properly loosing most of the data associted with it when imported, if you can shell out the cash for the a4000 and a5000 I say go for it, most probs associated with the a3000 seem to be gone on the latest yamaha samplers, but like I said the a3000 is too crahs prone and picky about the memory and hard drive it uses, if you think about using it only for a studio setup and you're short on cash pick one up, I've seen them going for as low as $400, I got mine for $595 and I think Ipaid too much for it.

I've had this thing for a few weeks now, at it continually opens up to me every day! This thing is INCREDIBLE!! Otherworldly sounds that I loved, and had no idea HOW they were made can be created by this box (and of course, an artful programmer). Couldn't be happier, and CHEAP to boot! Can't keep my hands off this thing!!
