It is a great synth with PHATT sounds . Easy to use .I find it better than the nordlead 2, jp 8000.You can create any sound you wish . Todey you can buy used AN1X for 450$-550$. So find one and get into electronic.

Damn so I've been tweaking some sounds through my computer and the knobs using the Matrix, Free EG and Damn, it's chubby, chubby than the lady next door...
And oh I made some kicks and they do sound like the 909 or the Ravolution 309 kicks...

When I bought mine (over 2 years ago), soon I bored and was going to sell it. But Im really glad I kept it. Soon I started to make my own(tons of sounds in the net anyway) and wanted second one but there wasn't any left. AN1x is kick ass synth even I have other stuff like Waldorf Pulse, Micro Q, Microwave XT and owned Clavia Nord Rack 2, Prophecy etc etc. It's up to you what you make with it.

The only way an AN1x could possibly disappoint someone is if they dont know how to use it. It is one of the best values out there as far as synths go. You could easily spend 3 or 4 times as much and not end up with as good a synth. It has incredible potential in the right hands. Get one if you can find someone crazy enough to let go of theirs. They are getting harder to find now since they were discontinued last year. Well worth every cent!!!
