Dont let anybody fool you, this machine is great. I haven't even used the computer editing side of the An200 and I still love it. You can get warm pads and harsh sounds all day long, and its instantly editable!! This was my first major synth and Im very happy with it. If anybody out there is thinking about buying the AN200, do it, you wont be sorry. My advice though, get an external midi keyboard, any midi keyboard will work. The possiblities are endless

this synth has some of the most essential drum sounds out of any other boox , apart from rmx1. my gues is thats where they come from. its a pity there is only one kit but it is suposed to be a synth not drum machine. and as a synth its very deep and compex , espesially with the soft ware, its just a pity that you cant tune the oscilators without soft ware. in other words to program sounds from the ground up you need a computer.

i use this box to death...i've completely exploited it for everything from harsh rhythmic noise to deep techno. however, i've got a problem with it sort of stuttering a bit when reading a clock signal from some of my other equipment. it's mostly when i move above 140 bpm. other than this problem, i love the thing...great box for the money. if anyone might have a suggestion to what is causing this problem, i'd appreciate the help...i can fill you in on the details if you might have a clue...

I use the an200 in conjunction with an rm1x and some samplers. additionally I run it through different guitar pedals and a guitar amp modeler.

I got this box because i wanted va synthesis at a price I could afford. I looked at the nord micromodular and while I liked the sounds it didn't like the fact that you needed to hook it up to a computer to really use it. that sucks for live use which is key for me.

I found it more malleable and responsive than the electribe ea-1 which I think is a great box as well. These grooveboxes are not toys. you can get some bad ass sounds out of them especially if you apply some effects, eq, compression, whatnot.

If you like to build sounds from scratch you like this box. if you prefer presets or loops then you might not want this box. you'd be better off with a computer and a program like acid.

I've had this box for a few months and i'm still getting deeper and deeper into it. Eventually I want a nord lead three but I think I will be using the an200 for a long time. Its exteremely expressive.

If you want to hear this box then check out the song "reeling" at http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/328/shogun_helix.html the drums and filtered leads were done with the rmi1x and samplers but the bass and squelch leads were done with the an200
