If you need a 49 key synth-action controller for a great price, this is the one to get. The action of the keyboard is nicer than most new MIDI controllers made today. I can think of a few exceptions, but for the most part, today's MIDI keyboards feel like cheap junk when compared to the CBX-K3. The only major problem with this is it doesn't have assignable knobs. It also has no USB, but USB introduces more latency and jitter anyway. It's always better to use pure MIDI, or CV / gate if you have the option.

Picked one of these Yamaha CBX-K3 from Ebay. It had a broken Black key. Called up Yahama and they had one in stock. Now that a quality company. Easy to replace and I love the feel of the keyboard. Its my first Midi controler and Im very pleased with it.

This has to be one of the best 49 key midi controllers. It is SOLID, very well built, unlike the many cheapo feeling ones. Even the CBX-K2, which has more features and it slightly more advanced, is more plastic feeling then this one, which has a metal keybed and case! It is not the best choice for controlling soft synths, but that's not what it was designed for anyway. Great for use with rack modules, live use and data input into the QY sequencers.

This was my first MIDI controller. A fantastic controller in my opinion. Great feel, great action. I mean, come on, a metal case! When's the last time you saw that on a MIDI controller? I'm posting it on Ebay right now because I bought an Akai AX60 and my tiny studio only lets me keep 1 board in it at a time. Goodbye sweet cbx-k3, I will never forget you...

The keyboard is the better more expensive version of the cbx-k2.The rare cbx-k3 uses the same keyboard action found on the SY22,SY33,YPR7,YPR9,QS300,KORG 707,etc.The newer cbx-k2 uses the more cheap flimsy all plastic keys you find on all the new portable PSR series keyboards. The cbx-k3 used the metal keybed with individual replacable DX11 type keys. This keyboard controller is worth the money if you find one cheap. The YPR9 portable piano is a good trade off too.Same keys,no real features, good midi controller for notes only.CBX-K3 is XG midi controller with cream color case.I need one myself but can't go on ebay.If you have one cheap, email me.
