I've had my Cp-30 for a couple of months now, and the more I play it, the more I like it. It certainly doesn't sound as good as a Rhodes or a Wurlitzer, but it still sounds good. The sound reminds me of my childhood years in the late 70's and the early 80's... <sob>
It's sounds are produced by stable analogue circuitry (it's an _electronic_ piano) so there aren't any maintenance or tuning problems. In my opinion the piano1 and piano2 presets are the most usable, the latter being more suitable for my purposes. The detuning function is totally cheesy and adds some horrible chorusing to the sound. In the upper register the sound gets too weak and can't really be used properly.
The Cp-30 is quite huge and weighs some 100 lbs (40-50 kg) and is a roadie's nightmare.
The Cp-30 has become an essential element in my setup and I really like the way it sounds and feels. Sure it doesn't sound like a real electric piano, but on the other hand I don't need to worry about it falling out of tune in the middle of a song. And it's cheap :) If you're loaded, buy a real electric piano. If not, try this one out.
