the cs1x is a really great synth. man. im in a band thats starting a new sound and style and it looks like this synth. is going to be perfect. the cs1x is nice.

cs1x is one of the greatest digital synths ever
1 it has 256 sounds for electronic/hip hop you can find more 1000 sounds in the net 2.it has xg module 3. you can change the sounds and keep them 4.great for performance cs1x is not a virtual analog is not analog its a workstation !!!!

I got mine when it was just released. First synth and all. Had a lot of fun with it, used it mostly multitibrally. Now functions as a master keyboard (more so than my K5000!). Problem: after like 4 years the knobs started to get loose and produce controllernoise (ADC's wimping out). BAD, BAD, BAD! However what is really nice is that you can fix velocity to a specicified value very fast! (I think it takes 2 button pushes and one knob swirl). I bended the spring of the pitchwheel so bending is way more fun now (feels better), recommended action. The samples are pretty good, very, very well sampled and very good sounding analog-type waves. You can make pretty cool morphs, makes you wonder why them VA's don't have some samples. The samples are all in the MU100 I believe (not sure), so you could also get one of these and an Oxygene 8 or something, whatever. It doesn't look as cool as a k5000 anyway! Make sure the knobs are OK if you find one.

make no mistake, this is not analog, or va. that being said, this keyboard rules! it can sound really really big if you make it.
my band does the heavier goth thing (think numan's pure album) and we just did a show with this thing playing the bass instead of live bass - we sounded heavier than ever.
its cheap. for the money you pay, this synth is excellent.

I have had the CS1X for quite some time now and let me tell you...I really like this machine. Sure she is not a Nord or even an ANx, but she can do a hell of a lot of mimicking for the price....You don't need the most expensive state of the art shit out there to make you sound like you know something..I have heard really cool stuff from a bullshit piece of crap casio, so to those who did not like this machine, I feel for you, for you ever took a second look at what you had...
