Jarrek -- It's not pioneering in any way except for price. I can't think of one thing that this machine does better than any other machine out there on the market. There's tons of stuff out there that's better than the CS1X. It's not bad for the price though

Jarrek a part-timer user from Canada writes:
For the money involved (Under $1000) and the features included the CS1x is an excellent Synth! No other synth in its class even comes close. I think the CS1x is a pioneering Synth of the mid 90's just as the M1 was in the mid 80's! Nuff Said.

John Clendaniel a hobbyist user from USA writes:
First of all this synth for the money is excellent. You have to be willing to learn to program it though that is essential. Some of the factory presets are excellent but some also arent so great (i.e. brass). Some people gave the guitars a bad review. Granted they dont really sound like guitars, but they are totally awsome lead sounds. The pads are very good and if you layer em right they can sound really nice and thick. The basses i think are good definately have to tweak em though. OK NOW THE BAD PART (which is really not soooooo bad) You can only use one performance voice which suckz. You can layer the others on the 5-16 layers but you dont get to use those darn cool effects that you do with the others. This is a slight setback but you can still do great midi compositions with this machine, just more of a hassle. But for its price its an awsome machine. Its really fun too!
