First of all, a lot of the people here who rated the cs1x 1-2, hardly know it according to what they've said, so I'd ignore them if I were you.
Now, several things about the CS1x:
1)True that it can use only one performance sound, that's a bit of a drag but then, you can use channels 5-16 on your seq to use all the sounds that make the performance that good.
2)You get 450 xg format sounds, just to remind you all, xg tops it all XG > GS > GM.
3)Analog options and knobs, very cool!!!
4)128 preset sounds + 128 user's and an ability to use syx messages (load patches of your own and others).
5)Easy to edit new sounds.
6)Great Sounds to my opinion.
7)Very low price for what you get.
8)Litreature - The Blue Book - Advanced User's Guide.
9)It won't get a rank 5 from me because it isn't perfect, nothing is!
