okay, first of all, dont listen to people who say this synth is worth shit. first off, their opinions are usually based on this: it SUCKS as a multitimbral machine, and its "real" (piano, strings, etc) are pretty sad. its best as a live synth, for people who do A LOT of editing. its analog sounds are great (especially if you edit them/create them). so its mainly a dance machine. check out this band: http://www.thefaint.com and listen to their songs. i saw them live a month ago, and their synths are this: a CS1x, a CS2x and a Nord Lead 2. they sound incredible. i have had this synth for at least a year and a half, and the more you use it, the better it gets. it sounds great, if you know it and use it well. the only complaint i could have is that overall, it has this really crispy sound to it. almost a little too crispy. this disappears, however, as soon as you play it through a PA or amp. oh, and by the way, unless you are looking for a real bread and butter, live type synth, the cs2x kicks the shit out of the Alesis QS6, the Roland XP10 and the korg N5ex. all are in the same price range, and ive owned all of them. if youre willing to spend more, then buy the korg ms2000, or better yet, the access viruskb. but for the price of the CS2x, its amazing.
