yes, he's right, the original DJX is much sturdier and way better than the DJX-II. You can still get the Original DJX cheap, but not for long, as they will probably become a bit more expensive in the near future. Skip the DJX-II and go for the Original. I also like the DJX box, but I gave it to my nephew cuz he went nuts over it. Big FUN!!

eric davis a professional user from loveland colorado writes:
I've had the djx2 for about 8 months and me and my band were loading our equipment out after we were done playing some show and I smacked the thing up against the wall, not very hard either, and in doing so I cracked one of the boards in it. my other band mate has the original djx and he has dropped that thing off its stand, which is about 3 feet or so up off the ground, numerous times and his works fine. I'm not expecting the thing to be built like a sherman tank but you have to expect these things to get banged around when put in use by a working musician. for as much as they cost they should take a hell of a lot more damage!

DJ Wulf Breed a part-time user from USA writes:
Ok, bought it for fun, but...I have used this in conjuction with CUBASE/CAKEWALK and Sound Forge 5.0 and have created some excellent samples and effects with very little effort. (Just need to know the software). Teh use of it is easy and with the USB cable I can set it up on PC or laptop.

VeryTallDave a hobbyist user from London UK writes:
I have just purchased a brand new Yamaha DJX2 from a major UK retailer for only 99.99. The same retailer is now also selling the DJXB for 89.99. If there is anyone out there considering one of these tools then contact me on warrend1@bp.com and I will forward you the retailers details - because at 99.99 they are unbeatable.

Chris Muller a hobbyist user from Landgraaf writes:
I have the djx2 for two years now and it has some nice sounds (pads, leads) , but i recommend saving your money and buy a synthesizer if you want trance or dance sounds (something like the Supernova 2 or Nord Lead). SAVE YOUR MONEY,BUY A DECENT SYNTHESIZER!!
