I used to have the original DJX, but unfortunately it was destroyed. When I looking for another, all I found was this DJX II. Everyone I hear from makes it sound like it's not worth it. Does anyone know where I can find an original? my e-mail is forrests@scai.com. Any help would be great! Thanx!

Ryan a hobbyist user from Scotland writes:
I bought the DJXII just before christmas, I'm already looking at alternatives ( 307,505 etc). Sure the bass in the drums is great but the limitations of this machine are endless. For example the "sample loop" is about three seconds and I don't know about other users but my sample quality is CRAP and can barely be heard when I play over the top, the same when I play strings etc over patterns and phrases. Yamaha have tried to plaease everyone with this machine with techno, house, trance, garage, hip-hop, get the drift. The thing is most of the sounds are well... cheezy!

In future get someone with half a clue about dance music to programme these things.

OK for kids and naive buyers like me, think you've got a clue about music? Avoid it like a 5 hooker. 1.5/10

I WAS GOING TO BUY THE DJX-II, BUT AFTER READING WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE SAYING...I GUESS I'M GOING TO HAVE TO CHECK AROUND INSTEAD. I'M A NEWBBIE TO AS FAR AS PLAYING TECHNO MUSIC, BUT I KNOW HOW TO KICK. I THOUGHT THAT THIS "DJX-II" WAS PRETTY COOL, BUT I PROBABLY NEED TO RECONSIDER. THANKS.

Adam a hobbyist user from USA writes:
The DJXII is definitely not the original. A very cut-down kiddie board. No LCD, you lose half the voices but get more stupid patterns, you can't cutoff and res in keyboard mode, no pitch bend wheel, and what is this NO MIDI note transmit thing? That makes it purely useless. How Yamaha could take a great machine like the original DJX, take away so many features (even most of the FX are gone!!, strip it down so much, and charge around $400 for it? I bought the original DJX a month ago at Guitar Center (the last boxed one they had left) for $200, and I tried out the "updated" version and it really blows, as does the groove box version. Oh yes, it's really ugly too, and the shaded keyboard does not resemble a Farfisa like Keyboard says it does, and yamahadjx.com stamped on the speaker grilles. The model I tried distorted like hell and I know real distortion from an effect, it means this non MIDI Control board is a piece of crap. Leave it to the little junior high Britney Spears fans to use because they wouldn't know what a filter or a midi controller is
