I keep hearing complaining about the Motif ES's interface. Now, let me tell you, the interface is not bad at all. In fact, don't forget that besides the knobs, sliders, ribbon controller, sustain pedal jacks, breath controller jack, you also have the 8 columns of buttons on the right! These buttons will help you do stuff on the fly like muting tracks, selecting certain tracks, and ES has real-time loop remix you can remix loops live on the fly.. you can't do that on a triton.

For sound quality, Motif ES is 10 times better than the Motif original... the reverb is outstanding, so are the sounds of all the samples, including electronic samples.

This is a very powerful tool for the right keyboard player. It has some very good sounds and patches that will imitate the real instrument, of course you need to tweak here and there to get the potential of it. You should know the specs by now. I went to see THE GIPSY KINGS, in Houston, Texas last year, and the keyboard player has one these beasts. But the musicians in this band are just impresive masters. I recomend you to buy GIPSY KINGS LIVE. Thats what I call music.

Yamaha Motif ES is a SONIC MARVEL... This has some of the best samples ever..and this came out before the roland fantom X or the triton Extreme...

small screen doesn't make it worthless...unlesss you are a grandpa who cannot read...

i have no problems with the small screen at all...yes, a bigger screen would have been better, but motif ES screen isn't that bad, provided you have a PC to edit your voices...

i do hope yamaha releases Motif EX (a combination of Motif and EX series) providing FDSP synthesis plug in boards, and big color LCD touch screen like the yamaha tyros or yamaha psr 3000!

I have owned the Yamaha Motif ES6 for about 2 months now. I bought a Korg Triton Studio61 last month and sold the Korg yesterday. The ES blows the Triton out of the water in terms of ease of use, specs, functions, sound quality and price. As far as a midi controller the Yamaha is way easier to use than the Korg. 2 thumbs up!!!!!!!
