it all comes down to personal preference. the motif is my best keyboard so far. i have a triton studio. good board. easy to use. good sounds. good features. but the motif is, to me, a more prefessional keyboard than the triton. better sounds, and has a lot of features that makes it much harder to use. oh well, just learn to LOVE reading. they have a site www.motifator.com that explains things better than the manual. hope they come out with a motif studio too. but, how much more could they pack in to it? a cd burner? a touch screen? whoooooooooooooooooo!!! would be unstoppable.

Marquis a professional user from USA writes:
I've owned a Triton Pro(the 76 key model)for a lil' over a year. It's an instantly loveable and usable keyboard. A fantastic variety of great sounds. Love the basses, horns, (killer strings), and many of the 'preloaded' loops and arpeggios. The Triton is my 'fastfood' version of a keyboard. It allows one to be up and running and making great sounding music very quickly, and yes the touch screen and the 5 fx processors are also an asset to that end. I picked up a Motif 7 3 months ago. Whereas I look at the Triton as the musical equivalent of going to a fastfood joint (easy, quick, and tasty), working with the Motif is a bit more like going to a fine restuarant with lots on the menu, many of which you may not be so familiar with. You may need to call the waiter to the table a few times(or in the case of the Motif, go to motfator.com), to ask about the menu, but after your meal arrives, you are able to say that it was an exqusite delight well worth the wait. The Motif has killer acoustic pianos, killer drums, killer electric pianos, and really nice guitars. In other words I use it to comlement my Triton's weaknesses and the Triton to complement my Motif's weaknesses. They are as different as your two best friends, but that's what makes me/you love them, they each have differences, and therfore distinctly different personalities. I'm just blessed enough to have 'em both, and I ain't tradin' neither one of 'em in! Peace, Marquis

does it matter? a professional user from Home of the Fallen Towers... writes:
If you can't read well then forget about the Motif, get the Triton and make it easier on your brain. The Motif is for those who like to feel their pulse in their head. If you don't have constant access to the internet then forget the Motif and get a Triton. Just go to motifator.com and peep the forums and then decide. Like I said before if you don't like to think get a Triton but if you think you are ready then join the intelligentsia...Life is real, so live in reality.

Love/Hate this keyboard.(Motif)Love the sounds. Hate the owners manual. Very hard to follow. Sometimes you need to go to the website, because the manual isnt telling the truth.Needs way more memory for sampling. Invest in the upgrade. Sequencer is hard to get at first, but after some practice,it is easier. Its a professional keyboard,no doubt. Best sounding keyboard in its class,by far. Hardest to use in its class,by far.Feature wise,in its class, rates about a 3. I`m keeping it though. Ill just have to keep learning on it, until it becomes second nature.

The Motif is killer. Killer sounds and killer sequencer. But it`s hard to use.......for people that don`t know what they are doing.
