This thing rocks! Just a few details are missing to get 100 points over 100. In the future OS file handling and microtuning handling might be improved. But still, this is the best sounding and featuring keyboard in the whole industry. Matchless.

The Yamaha Motif is a winner in all aspects. I tested the K2600, Triton Pro/x and Fantom. None could touch the Motif. Sounds are superb, ease of use, well, it takes a while but once you get the hang it's very intuitive. Bottom line..... You can't go wrong.......

Just to clear up many of the comparison's of Motif vs. EX5. The Motif is a true 'workstation', obviously keeping up with the high standards set by Yamaha's SY99 and QS's etc. The EX5 is a 'synthesizer' w/incl. seq, sampler, arpeggio, etc. I was 'fooled' too when I first got my EX5, having 'upgraded' from a SY77+. It's a 'problematic' workstation at best, but can be capable with patience applied. The Motif has got to be a fantastic compostional tool I imagine, but for 'microediting' Wave constuction, arpeggio fine tuning, FDSP realism, and having VL, and AN already onboard, that's where one needs a BIG synthesizer to round out those ideas - that's where the EX5 comes in.

The Motif is a true 'compostional workstation' The EX5 is a 'overblown synthesizer' Like Moby vs. Wendy Carlos shall we say? Don't 'diss' the EX5's too hard please. :) (And if you only knew the history of this person with his EX5, the defence of it now should speak volumes!)

Totally Awesome! Practical both live and in the studio... Replaced my XP80 and TS10. Finally sounds with personality! A welcome change...
