i really love the motif, and the sounds are great i own a trinty and a trition, the sound are so different, the strings and horns on the mo. are wonderfully real feeling, and sounding, the only thing i can't quite do yet with it make it more user friendly when it comes to sequencing, but once you get used to it it's really not a hard keyboard to operate,i love the live performance sounds it's amazing, my next album project will be out this year and the motif sounds will be on it,oh yea it does need some combination sounds buit in maybe the new sounds coming out will have them included, thanks yamaha again'''

I tested Korg Karma for two days and brouht it back to the music store. Then I tested Motif6 for 30 minutes and bought it. And it was a wise decision ;-)

I love the MO. I really searched around to find the best keyboard on the market. I think I found it. The MO has very few flaws. I was disapointed with the display versus the Triton but that was about it. The master mode provides excellent controller features not available on the Triton. The integrated sampling blows the Triton away! With Motifator.com the support is excellent. I would like to see a CD-R in the future.

Outstanding keyboard, piano has just a good sound as the Kurzweil K2's, the synth sounds are totally retro sound and some great dum loops as well, I use this board live and in the studio and it hasn't failed me yet, always a new sound somewhere which is so inspiring to a writting musician, two thumbs up!

Gorgeous Girl a professional user from USA writes:
From my experiments (your mileage may vary), I have found no MIDI timing problems with this synth. In fact, I put it through the following test: a 170 bpm drum n bass track with 15 notes playing at one time all through the MOTIF. Each of these notes might be comprised of multiple samples that eat up polyphony. I did not notice any note stealing. I also had other gear running alongside the MOTIF (about 10 other instruments). No lag time.

The only real problem with this synth/sampling workstation, as I see, is the inconsistent user interface. It takes time to get used to. If you're impatient, don't buy this synth. If you like solving puzzles, this is a good synth to get. It's quirky, but very powerful. The sounds are awesome and it can do more than any workstation in its price range. I would have dropped my rating down to a 4 (people already know I'm a harsh grader), but the other stuff more than makes up for the odd interface.
