i bought the motif to replace my s5000, it does this great, i love it as a sampler, and its got killer drums, the best drums of all the romplers, that and the pianos and guitars with fx work wonders in my mixes, great pads, and good techno sounds. the sequencer is lame, but i use cubase with it so.

I just picked up the Motif two weeks ago and I have already made hitz! This thing is hands down the tightest I have seen. My partner owns a Triton and I must say Triton Effects Processor is Nice, However Motif sounds are of better quality so you don't need a whole lot of effects for a nice sound. The Smartmedia Card is a whole lot better than floppies. You need 30+ floppies for the triton to store what one smart media card can store for Motif. motif is about $500 less than the triton. Get the Motif you won't be disappointed, Triton doesn't even have a digital out.

Steve Ennis a hobbyist user from USA writes:
I own a Motif 7, my musical partner bought a Motif 8. I have owned a number of synths but Motif is, by far, the most powerful. True, there is a lot to learn, but the steps are very logically laid-out. File management (loading sounds, songs) is easy but slow if your going from computer directly to the SmartMedia card inserted into the keyboard. Get a separate SmartMedia reader/writer!

The motif hands down, it sounds better, it has better fx, and this has built in sound roms, with amazing guitar sounds, horns, strings, plus tons of a electronic pad and strings and bass. its great. by far my fav workstation, it takes some time to learn, but once you do, there is no looking back.

asr10 can only have 16 mb of ram, this thing can have 64. and the scsi is built in and there are 4 outputs, + an addon to get 8 more.
