That's right, i've had keyboardlessons on this one 12 years back, sold it and now i bought one secondhand again for about $100 (Ah,for good old times sake)...The sounds are pretty shite..UNTIL you turn on the 'digital synthesizer'! It then becomes actually a DX-synth with 5 sliders for 'tweaking'!!!Great basses,FM-synths and weird leadsounds will be jumping at you. Also, the electric piano sounds really fat with chorus over it.(Shame it becomes only 6 voices when you use the digital synthesizer feature.)
It's nice to have it just lying around for playing with it when you have visitors and you definitely will be having a laugh making silly tunes...
Conclusion : Nice "keyboard"-toy but able to make some cool FM-sounds.And it has MIDI...

The PSR-36 is really a nice toy that can be used for recording with some effects/Filters. i like the mant options on the accompany/drums/bass/chords different sounds for bass and chords and overall i think the best of the FM PSR series. very hard to find. If you find one buy it for $100-150 It has midi and a cool little 6 sliders of FM digital synth. It is not a DX-7 but hey, when was the last time that you were sitting down to edit a DX-7??? here you've got a few sliders and many waveforms. ciao
