Love the board and the built in sound system - no need to pipe it thru a stereo. Lots of useable sounds which can be edited in the synth section and layered with another sound. And finally a PSR board that remembers all settings next time you turn it on! Cymbal samples are only fair, rest of drums excellent. The "Lead" voice is a third sound you can layer but it's mono only with NO portamento. The DSP effects are good. The sequencer is slow but records everything. Plays but can't edit imported MIDI files. No event editing or pasting but has a nice step record mode. No punch in recording. When playing a dense style with lots of voices used, the processor can't keep up and the note timing is a little sloppy. Floppy disk is slow and forget about the hard disk option - it's not available. You can add wave samples, which I did and they sound great, but wave memory is scarse. You can add 32 styles from floppy. Overall, the nags are minor compared to the power of this synth. This thing sounds BIG for a "home" keyboard. The big display is great. If I had only one board (which I do) it would be the 7000.
