The best hardware sequencer, period. The large LCD really makes using it a pleasure, including piano-roll style editing. 32 tracks, user-friendly - as a sequencer, I can't ask for more.
Tone generator doesn't really cut it for me, though - I use it as a stand-alone sequencer with and AW16G and a pile of synths and modules.

I am a International Gospel Recording Artist as well as a Music Producer etc... and I have used the QY700 on stage and in the studio for writing since 1996 when they first came out. They are certainly remarkable and has given me many years of quality service. I too would have liked to have had a large internal memory for songs and perhaps a better tone generator with higher quality sounds.Perhaps Yamaha will revamp this unit as it still is a current selling piece of equipment even after all these years.

This is my third(and best by far) hardware sequencer. Its reliable, rock solid and the large display makes it really easy to use. I recently purchased a AW16G, and find the QY700 is perfect for midi arranging and writing. I dont love the drums, but triggering a seperate drum machine from the QY700 seems to do the trick.
