Honestly, if u make complaints about not getting the right sound out of this box or say the internal sounds are lame. Sell it and buy an instant preset sound machine like the Roland.
You can get the sound you want with this. The sequencer is awesome, the live possibilities are great and the sampler is good aswell.
What i would still like to see changed is better LFO implementation and the possibility to switch record mode on/off even when in realtime/overdub recording.
Besides that....no complaints, best devic in my studio!
Get one and have fun...they are getting cheaper and cheaper second hand.

I love this box but, hate Yamaha. Why, how? Cause the RS7000 is the second time I shelled out a grand to Yamaha only to have them drop the price. It happened to me in early 2000 with SU700. I could choke them!
If I could give anyone advice, wait 2 years before buying Yamaha gear. On the 3rd year the stop making it. Usually on the 2nd year of production there is that price drop.
I agree with pretty much all the positive reviews on the RS here. Just wait if you value your dollars. It makes me mad cause it adds up to upgrades for the RS. To other gear I could have bought.

Awesome box, the merge of RM1x/SU700/A3K is truly superb. However, watch out for the cowboys who are putting the aieb1 expansion boards (out of the old a3k samplers that no one wants anymore) and selling them as prime expanded meat, it only works with the aieb2. You have been.......

I think 99% of the "buggy as hell" complaints are directly related to incompatible RAM simms and old OS versions.
Try removing the memory expansion, update the OS to 1.2, do a factory reset, and then get better RAM! Not every old SIMM will do, so try a shop that guarantees their RAM will work in the RS7000.

i never had a problem wit tha 1st os, but once u get 1.2, this baby humms!!! u can think of it as a 16 track mpc (with 10 sections... thats like umm... 160 tracks!!! daamn!!) with a built in synth and drum kits to match... the slice function lets u flip out on samples and the knobs can twist any sound up... sequencer cant be touched... i still remember goin to sam ash to get the mpc, and i seen this... the manager said, "take it home, if u dont like it, bring it back and get the mpc". he never saw me again, that was like june 02... best piece i ever bought. good job YAMAHA... u punkasses..lol
