I wanted 2 put a review here, so that you guys could get a view from someone in the industry...The rs7000 is at every studio Ive been to in NY....Its a nice peice of gear...Its a lil hard at first 2 pick up, but when u get the hang of it is crazy... I own just about every MPC series at my studio, and can say the RS7000 is equal to the 2000XL.....But we're not here 2 compare so thats irrelevent... I produce hip hop, and with my Motif the Rs7000 is a good place to start an Idea....I used the Rs and the motif to create 3 of the tracks off my new album (Live at Lennox) Theres no "pro" eqipment....We use just about every piece of gear there is, as big as the budget allows....I know guys that get synths just for 3 or 4 sounds that they like off them... Of course in the end it really comes down 2 what you like...I liked the rs7000, and i found the sounds on the board were aite, a lot better than some on here said....I use this peice mainly for sequencing my motif and triton... Use what you like, in the end it comes down to product...One of the engineers at my studio in Yonkers produced a track off Reason, and we used it for the CNN album.... Hope that helps you guys out...Don't go off reviews until you've tried this gear out....And dont tell folks its not "pro", because anything and everything is "pro" when used correctly...Please dont use this review as ur sole info...This is my opinion

The RS7000 is a brilliant piece of gear for those who want compact live setups, or who don't have the cash to fork on a bunch of boxes to cover everything that it does.
The sequencer is a flat out joy to use. The large screen and easy editing make it one of the best hardware sequencers out there. There's plenty of real-time control in there, and if you're a perfectionist, there isn't a whole lot that can't be done via step editing.
The sounds are nice and clean, although many of the bass sounds leave me wanting more. Although really, I can just sample in some analogue from the neighbouring Andromeda. ;)
It handles drums quite nicely, and editing 'em is a breeze, although the synth engine (although better sounding) isn't nearly as complex and editable as Roland's grooveboxes. (The thought of layering and tweaking four original samples per patch on the MC909 is mouth watering).
In the end, I'm probably gonna couple this box with a Roland MC909 + Virus C. I've got a 505 slaved to it now, which works well, but am being limited by it.
Anyway. I'm out. ;)

the sampler is good also for synth sounds etc, you can intonate them and use it with all the knobs, filters, evelopes of the machine.
as for the sequencer, well, it's professional...if this isn't professional, well, show me what do you think it's professional!!!
one of the best pieves of gear ever done on the market. MC-909 is a toy respect rs7000; MPC4000 is great but really damn expensive and till less intuitive and really less realtime controls.

semi pro??? you have got to be kidding.....it is a PRO-sequencer...compare it with the 'pro' korg triton sequencer, or the 'pro' mpc's...i think RS 7000 shines...
Its sampler is not full blown, but its good for phrases...(I don't use sampler for instrument sounds anyway, i use it for human voices, etc)...
I have a access virus KC and rs 7000................its all you need basically for the best music. (virus KC costs $1850, and rs 7000 another 900)

THE RS7000 IS THE BEST SEMI/PRO TOOL AVAILABLE FOR HIPHOP PRODUCERS ON A BUDGET GIVES YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO DROP THE BOMB IN ONE BOX.HERES A PIECE OF ADVICE. READ THE MANUEL AND FORGET ABOUT WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE HAS TO SAY..CLOSE YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS TO THE LAB AND CONCOCT SOME MAD SCIENCE.
