i think that the problems of people who write bad reviews on rs7k is that they are not able to make it work.
it will sound weird to your ears, but i find rs7000 easier and more immediate than QY700, ASR-X, MPCs, MC-50 from roland....
it's on the sam esequencer concept of RM1-X, a great revolution.
it's pretty like working on software. i would have add only the possibility of more than 64MB or ram, but for the other specs, well, i think nothing can beat the RS7000 sampler/sequencer concept.

Great live tool with quirks, but nothing better out there in this price range for live-sequencing. Fantastic in the studio also to collect ideas on it.

They started working on the OS update like two or three months ago, and i would guess they will take app. another three before they are finished.
It took them such a long time to start with it, because you know...big company...big meetings...it takes its time, but the update will come.
I dont know if there will be more than from 1.14 to 2.0 but hey...the RS IS almost perfect except those little things they are gonna fix in 2.0. After that...the RS IS perfect. Of course there will be always someone who wants this or that, but basically i would say they pulled the maximum out of the concept now.

the best sampler/sequencer right now.
no others have so many realtime knobs and controls; pretty easy to operate, GREAT efx and also some good internal sounds even if i like to treat it as a full sampler.
i loved ASR-X, i still love it, and nor RS7K is a great successor.
the sequencer is a monster, it's like working on Cubase but it's hardware.
a great machine that can be fitted, fuelled with your samples and sequences and do a great job for lives also, not only studio work.
