Zamise a hobbyist user from USA writes:
Just got my RS7000, but have been a big Yamaha fan since the QY70 came out. My favorite piece of gear ever is the mc505, but the QY70 from Yamaha will always have a place in my heart. The 505 lacks a few things like not enough voice channels, no built in sampler, and programing and modifying step sequences are a bit rough. Otherwise, the combinatation between tweakage and fun are higher than anything else that I've used on the mc505. So far I'm finding the rs7000 a little light on the tweakage factor. I'm not seeing many arps, slicer effect apears to be only a master effect, preset sounds seem a tad cold. I'm hopeing this box will take over the combination of my mc505 and triton sampler workstation all down into one unit. So far I've noticed the step sequencing on the RS7k is more user friendly than either the 505 and triton, which I think is pretty important and always liked about Yamahas. I'm counting on that with some more play time I might just have a unit that will slowly take over the rest of my arsonal and become my new all in one baby. It will be nice to have just one box to pack for doing performances, if anything its going to be added to the rest as a featured piece.

For the money of the mpc4000 you can buy the rs7000 + a very nice VA . Complete setup and you dont need a mixer.Dump sysex of the VA in a section of the rs7K for easy managing.

I upgraded from MPC2k to RS7000. In every aspect the RS kicks the MPCs ugly butt so hard...

I especially enjoy those many knobs and the tightness of the sequencer. RS got the groove!

Please Help!!! I've been reading reviews for a while.. I am wanting to get this rs7000 but now the mpc 4000 is out. Any comments? of course price is a factor, if the mpc is worth waiting for then so be it, I just figure you guys could help since owning one (rs7k) is different then just wanting one...

astronomer from u.s. writes:
one problem i find with the rs7k is smoothly transitioning between (or achieving a weighted sum of) effects. ideally, all the effects should be simultaneously available without switching (or glitching), perhaps through a fader for each. am i missing something? is there a way to do this now? also, is it possible to achieve a continuous effects feedback loop through the sampler?
