Got one for sale with the 'Percussion' card (and the 'Dance and Soul' card if I can find it). Has the manual and power supply. Very good condition, works perfectly. The Yamaha RY30 drum machine in my opinion is the best real sounding machine ever made. Its closest rival, the Roland R8 is perhaps on par with sounds but not on ease of programability. Ive owned 7 or 8 drum machines in my time, ranging from Alesis SR16, Korgs ER1, Rolands R5 and R8, Novations drum station(not a drum machine but a drum module), Rolands Tr505 and 606 so i think my opinion is well backed up with hands on knowledge. The RY30 is really easy to program and sounds fan-bleeding-tastic, it has and still is used in the music industry. These drum machines are now very hard to buy, so if you are lucky enough to own one look after it.

I got this unit about 6 months ago, with manual, psu & two of the drum cards. I also picked up an R-8(+ 7 cards) at the same time. These are without doubt the two best drum machines by reputation from the early 90's. Anyway for me there was one winner... Both machines have their advantages, but for end product fat groovy patterns (electronica) the ry30 seems to allow much more spontaneity and instant gratification. There is also more control over how something might sound compared to the r8, and i find it simpler to use with more realtime control. If only it had the R8 random variation functions, 4x4 grid of aftertouch pads, roll/flam functions and the roland selection of sounds available on expansion cards it would be perfect. As it is i recommend having both, but use the ry30 more often and wont be selling it.

The best drum machine I have ever owned, and I have used practically all of them. Maybe not so hot by todays standard for realistic stuff but still able to produce excellent electronic/experimental beats.
So much potential in this baby, certainly worth having even now in 2008 ! (20 years after its release).
Eats the Roland R8 (from the same era) for breakfast !
It surely deserves legendary status as much as an 808 or LM-1.
