SHS-10 Help! - I have just dropped my SHS-10 (great instrument) heavily on the road, and all its functions have stopped working. On switchon the viewer shows 00 for a second and then goes blank --it now makes all kinds of noise except notes -- with the occasional drum beat when pressing demo key - is there anyone out there who knows of a repair shop? I have opened it up and cannot see any obvious shorts, but I do not know or can find tips to test the circuit board. thanks

I play one of these for a ska band, mainly just use midi and put an organ sound through it. It worked well for about 3 weeks, but recently, the portamento button stops working randomly, and it randomly switches to voice 00 (synth) and makes no sound when tthe keys are pressed. i haven't used it for any hard crazy sessions, just about 20 mins a day for a few weeks, and recently an hour band practice. i would suggest it, but it just doesnt seem hardy enough for me. also, if any of you guys had the same problems and know how to fix it, please post and fill me in.

I love mine. My opinion has changed. Beware. Red ones are being sold on ebay for mega-money. It used to be silver ones making more. Red ones are no rarer than silver. They look more toy like and have the same features. Avoid over-priced red. It's a recent con. It is not the same as red SH101 Rolands. Now, what a great little board this is. Indestructable and funky-looking. It is a proper midi controller. Honestly! One of the 3 must have mini Yamahas. The CS-01, any VSS sampler and the SHS-10. All great things. The SHS sounds are thin. The drum beats are pss stuff. Thats not the point. This can run any midi gear. It looks great on stage, not like Roland and Korg remotes which look ugly. The Yamaha looks cute and retro. Look out for badly listed examples on ebay. You can get a bargain. Well listed ones will make $150 and more. In England they can make nearly £200! Wow!
