I got my SK15 at a pawnshop for $100. At first I wasn't sure about it, but after trying the unit with phones I was sold-then putting it through my amp, I was moved. For the buck and the era, the best combo organ I've ever used. Though it doesn't quite have the balls of the Korg CX3, the SK gets pretty close to a Hammond sound-the percussion slider is excellent as are the simulated drawbars-sat around and played all my fave early 70's soul tunes the first couple of nights! also, when you add in the string patches, you can clone your favorite 60's cheez sounds a la Vox, Farfisa or Acetone. The synth is primitive but useful-again,mix it with the strings to add ARP goodness to the mix-Adding a fuzz acts as a little viagra to the SK experience. If you see one-get it and learn it-you'll find many new wrinkles the more you play it!

Sorry about the large number of typos in my review of the SK15. It was pretty late when I wrote the review. It is of course the Yamaha SYMPHONIC (not SYMPRONIC) ENSEMBLE. Anyway, here are a few extra thoughts on the SK15. The Leslie effect is quite excellent considering that the instrument was designed and built in 1981. It speeds up and slows down in a very convincing manner. The output is monophonic, however, so the 3D quality is not up to today's stereo simulations. However, tonight I dug up my trusty old BOSS Digital Dimension pedal, (similar in some ways to - yet much cleaner and deeper than - a chorus effect but accomplished by digital pitch shift rather than LFO modulation), ran the outputs into a stereo amp and PRESTO, the spacious sound I'd been missing. Now the SK15 has been transformed into a very fine B3 imitator indeed. The polysynth section also sounds like a dual oscillator synth. There are also nine dedicated buttons I forgot to mention in my review for things such as envelope modification (attack and sustain) and effect variation. I like the SK15 even more now that I've run it thru the Digital Dimension. I rate the SK15 as an excellent instrument, and with its truly impressive, classic sounds I give it a 5 outta 5.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The SK-30 actually does have a Leslie output plug in the back of the unit. (**sigh**) I can't even imagine how good that sounds!
