One rare beauty... Extremely musical and extremely ignored.

try replacing the resistors for one preset with pots on the front panel, and wiring a knob from the aftertouch sensor to the panel for vibrato

I bought an SK-50D about 4 or 5 years ago, and its been a faithful staple in my setup ever since. There are a few short comings, like the organ voices which play from the lower keyboard are available only as presets, and the drawbars operate only on the upper keyboard organ voices. I've recently looked at a schematic and discovered that the presets for the organs and the polysynth are set up using a matrix of resistors on the PC boards, though, so changing the presets isn't impossible, but would require a bit of work! It sounds terrific, BTW: running the organ voices through a Leslie gives a good impression of a 'clean' Hammond. One small annoying bit about the solo synth (aside from the lack of a pitch bender mentioned on the main page) is that there's no way to apply the LFO to the VCO pitch other than by activating the aftertouch. Having only one filter on the 7 voice polysynth section is a limitation, and if you need individual filter articulation on each note, the polysynth will not deliver. If something bad were to happen to mine, I'd definitely search out another!
