It's great. Highly underrated. I immediately recognized the house sounding pianos and basses (although I'm not into house).
I use Sound Diver on my Mac to edit the user patches. That's great because you can name them and it appears in the LED. Cool!
I still have to learn how to program FM 4-op. Damn that's wierd stuff. Grrrreat basses, organs, and pad-type sounds.

Haven't got one of these, but have got a TX81Z which is the same synth only editable from the front panel (see reviews at this site). Point is this - you could use these as dirt cheap expanders for the your TX81Z, DX11, DX21 (all 4op gear should be compatible). Just edit on your 'proper' FM unit and do a bulk dump to one of these and double (treble?, quadruple??) your polyphony. At circa £80, this is a rather nice option!!

I just picked up my FB-01 for $34 USD! Yes, it may be a great example of the 'sound of an age', being FM Synthesis and all, but you can make some pretty nice sounds out of it. My only problem is that as soon as I unplug it, it seems to lose everything I've stored in it, such as presets, patch settings, etc etc etc. Overall, the box is a great little buy for a great little price, especially for the 200+ sounds and the 96 user patch settings. Altho, you do need a PC to edit the patches. (or a computer in general.. i think there is a program that will do it for mac now)
