A wonderful keyboard! very very easy to use!! The onboard sequencer is the best I used ever and the sound editing functions is very good just like a creative tool. Much better than my Korg 01W/FD. I wish that it had more support on the internet. Wonderful studio workstation keyboard.

Yes, it's really a wonderful sounding keyboard even thouth drum is a little bit dead....And I have to say the piano expansion board is a must(the sound is great!). The Sequencer is VERY VERY easy to use(This is the best onboard sequencer I used ever) Features are great at that time. but there are few expansion capabilities... Semi-weighted keyboard is great!! I think it's better than the Motif 7 I'm working with. Someone said W series is not very good, but I think we should not compare W series to some modern workstations. Anyway W series is one of the best workstations before release of EX series.

This is a wonderful sounding board. The built in sequencer and the simplified editing functions help out a lot! The factory sounds are so-so but the piano expansion board sounds great. I have downloaded some sound banks which feature some wild techno and ambient sounds! The action is a little light so it takes a while to get used to it. If anyone has any additional sound banks please drop me a line and we can chat! Be good y'all.

Casio synthesis uses multiple DCO's for each sound, along with a ton of envelopes. Some sound like wave samples, though. Especially the Trumpet 3 on a WK-1630.

And I still can't figure out how to edit sounds on the w5 at school. This piano sound is driving me up the wall! That and most of the insturments on it (minus the "Ha Ha Ha" sound").
