3. Boss TE-2 Tera Echo
The Tera Echo is one of three new pedals from Boss, and it has attracted a serious amount of attention since it was announced in January. The onboard DSP incorporates modulation, chorus, delay and a touch of reverb into the mix, and gives you a beautiful tail on your sound.
It's essentially ambience in a box, and gives you the sort of sound you might expect from Strymon or Eventide, but at a mere fraction of the price. It gives you nowhere near the amount of versatility and control you'd get from Strymon and Eventide pedals, but it's an inexpensive way to get that sort of tone.
I'm a big fan of the Tera Echo, it's my sort of pedal. It continues in the vein of classic Boss time-based effects, and I think it will eventually become one of the best sellers.
